E2E & IWG Special Evening Reception with Dame Inga Beale DBE, Former CEO of Lloyd’s of London
September 30 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
About the Event
This evening event is your opportunity to connect with the who’s who of entrepreneurship in the city and explore current challenges, experiences, and ideas over a glass of wine in a unique setting.
Our phenomenal guest speaker is Dame Inga Beale DBE, the UK-leading businesswoman that everyone needs to meet. After working in senior global leadership roles in some of the world’s largest insurance companies, Inga took over the helm of Lloyd’s of London, the 330-year-old City financial institution, making her the first female CEO. Taking on many of the traditions that had held the organisation back, Inga expanded their global markets, and introduced strategies including the Lloyd’s Innovation Lab, and the Dive In Festival, an industry-wide, international diversity and inclusion event. She considers the balance struck between history and modernisation when implementing change, the vital importance of inclusion in the workplace, and concepts of trust and ethics in business.
As a valued E2E guest, you will have the opportunity to meet and hear from our co-hosts: Richard Morris, CEO of IWG UK, the world’s largest serviced office supplier and Shalini Khemka, E2E’s Founder and CEO, Deal Maker for the UK Government’s Department of International Trade and a Member of the Mayor of London’s Business Advisory Board.
Meet your Guest Speaker
Dame Inga Beale DBE
Former CEO – Lloyd’s of London
Former CEO of Lloyd’s of London, Dame Inga Beale is a British businesswoman with over three decades of experience in the financial services sector. Inga led the global insurance market through a dramatic period of modernisation, opening the Lloyd’s Innovation Lab, expanding the company’s global access, and challenging the ‘old boys’ club’ image of the 330-year-old institution.
Prior to joining Lloyd’s, Inga held a variety of international leadership positions for GE Insurance Solutions, before becoming Group CEO of Swiss reinsurer Converium. She was then on the Global Management Board of Zurich Insurance Group until she became Group CEO of Canopius, one of the top insurers in Lloyd’s market.
During her time at Lloyd’s, Inga developed a culture of innovation and inclusion. She expanded the company’s reach to new, high-growth markets including Asia and the Middle East, and delivered some of Lloyd’s strongest financial results. As the first female CEO of Lloyd’s, she played a key role in changing cultural perceptions and highlighting the importance of diversity and inclusion. Under her leadership, Lloyd’s launched a number of diversity initiatives, including the Dive In Festival, which grew to become the only world-wide insurance industry diversity and inclusion event.
